“The IP-based CCTV surveillance installation strengthened campus safety and supported administrative oversight across university facilities.”

The objective was to install IP-based CCTV cameras across the university grounds, covering entrances, academic buildings, examination halls, corridors, parking zones, and student activity areas.

With multiple academic blocks, open grounds, and administrative zones, planning camera placement across a vast area was complex.
Surveillance had to be set up in a way that maintained the privacy of students and staff, especially in residential or restricted zones.
Some areas required round-the-clock monitoring, including outdoor spaces that faced poor visibility after dark.

Strategic Camera Placement Plan: IP cameras were installed at key locations based on foot traffic, security risk, and visibility requirements.
PoE Networking for Simplified Cabling: Power over Ethernet switches were used to power the cameras and transmit data through a single cable.
Use of Night-Vision and Outdoor Cameras: Weather-resistant cameras with night-vision capability were used in parking lots, pathways, and sports areas to maintain visibility after sunset.

Entrances, corridors, exam halls, parking areas, and open spaces were successfully brought under video surveillance.

Real-time feeds helped the administration and security team keep better watch over daily activities and respond faster to any disturbances.
